Ralph E. Davidson

October 25, 1921 - February 17, 2014 Ralph Ewing Davidson, 92, of Post Falls, ID, peacefully passed away on Feb 17,2014 at Spokane Valley Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 25, 1921 to Floyd & Mary Etta (Funk) Davidson in Opie, KS, the family shortly thereafter moved to Craig, CO where Ralph was raised and graduated from Moffat County High School. Ralph took a welding position in the Swan Island shipyards in Portland, OR where he met his bride, Carleen Bates. They married July 5, 1944 in Caldwell, ID. 10 days later Ralph entered the U.S. Army serving in the Pacific Theater in WW-II. Upon returning stateside Ralph entered Colorado A&M graduating with a BS in Agriculture. In 1957 Ralph & Carleen moved to Post Falls buying a dairy farm on the Spokane River where they lived for over 55 years. Ralph & Carleen served many years as 4-H leaders and Grange members. After retiring Ralph enjoyed woodworking and winters in Arizona where they spent treasured time with family & friends. Ralph was preceded in death in 2006 by his wife of 62 years. Also preceding Ralph were 3 brothers, Charles, Kenneth & George. He is survived by daughter, Karen (Denny) Tressel, of Ada, OH, 3 sons, Sandy of Spokane, WA, Kevin (Mary) of Buhl, ID, & Scott of Puyallup, WA, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, & sister AnnaMay Hutton of Fruita, CO. Ralph was one of the veterans chosen for the first "Honor Flight" from Spokane. Memories from the trip were invaluable to Ralph. A memorial & celebration of life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 23rd at Guardian Angel Homes, 23102 E. Mission Ave, Liberty Lake, WA, with inurnment at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 24th at Eastern Washington Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA.
