Passed away on June 28, 2011 in Davenport, Washington. His home was Almira, WA. He was a member of the Wilbur VFW as well as the Almira Fire Department. He worked for Almira Farmers Warehouse
for 25 years. Vernon enjoyed
collecting knives, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children: Bob Coppersmith of Post Falls, ID, Cindy Edwards and Wayne Fowler of Nespelem, WA, John and Jeanette Coppersmith of Almira, WA, Christine and Craig Cochran of Garfield, WA, as Penny and Wade Majors of Wilbur, WA; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother, Paul Coppersmith and Virginia of Spokane, WA, his sister, Pearl Cluster of Glendale, AZ, brother-in-law Wayne "Buddy" Ellington of Morton, ND, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife, Leola in 2009, a grandson, Calaway Coppersmith, his brother Earl, two sisters, Ethel Nelson and Minnie Finlayson. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Almira Community Center with Pastor Paul Arthur, officiating.
