(Age 78)

Passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with breast cancer, on January 29, 2011. Darlene was born September 14, 1932 in Britton, South Dakota. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1950 and married Lee Lessig the same year. Darlene retired as an administrative secretary for the Mead School District. Her family was most important, always putting them first.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing, computers, and boating; she was the best first-mate ever. Darlene is survived by her husband, Lee; son, Wayne (Twyla) Lessig; brothers, Stan (Darlene)Lobdell, Roger (Lillian) Lobdell, Jerry (Paula) Lobdell, and Bill (Kathy) Lobdell; grandchildren, Krystal (Chad) Frank, Cassady Lessig, Jami (Dan) Graham, Dustin (Stefanie) Lessig; daughter-in-law, Dawn Lessig; her Carin Terrier dog, Buttercup; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Gary Lessig; and sister, Shirley Graham. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 1:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N.
Government Way, Spokane, WA.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Horizon Hospice.

Darlene - you and Lee have always had a very special place in our hearts and a bright spot in our lives - especially at Buttonhook. Even though we only saw you a couple times a year, you were always in our thoughts. You are all we ever hope to be.
