HOUK, James Richard Jr. "Dick"

Passed away April 21, 2011 at The Gardens in Spokane, WA. Dick was born on April 16, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to James Richard Houk Sr. and Lydia Bell Johns. He is survived by his three children, Sarah Ruth Houk-Thornton, Derek Jon Houk, and Benjamin Wade Houk, son-in-law Andrew Thornton, daughter-in-law LeahAnne Houk, grandchildren, Zachary, Stephanie, and Nathaniel Thornton, and Brenna and Lauren Houk. Dick married Shawn Ferté on April 19th, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, CA (divorced). He resided in the San Fernando Valley, CA until 1974, and then moved to Spokane, WA where he resided until his death. Dick enjoyed riding motorcycles, and playing with his grandchildren. He was a talented artist and pool player, a great motivator, and enjoyed making others laugh. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 5th, 2011 at 2:00pm at Rosepoint, 13013 East Mission Avenue, Spokane Valley, WA.
