WEGTER , Wilbur
(Age 88)

Wilbur went to his eternal home on April 18, 2011, in Spokane, WA. He was born in Boyden, IA on June 4, 1922, to Gerrit and Nellie Wegter. He was a long- time resident of Deer Park, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Hazel; his parents; his sisters, Fannie and Johanna and his brothers, Egbert and Peter. He is survived by his brother, Gerald; sister, Esther; daughter, Sandra Roberts; two grandsons, Brian and Craig; three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Michael and Jared and numerous nieces and nephews. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. After the war, he worked on his farm in Iowa for 12 years. Later, he worked in Spokane at Kaiser (Trentwood), and for many years at Holy Family Hospital where he retired in 1987. He enjoyed tending his 40-acre farm near Deer Park before and during his retirement. His bright smile and generous heart will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2011, at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Donations in memory of Wilbur may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Inland Northwest Chapter.

Sandy, Brian,and Craig,
We were so sorry to learn of Uncle Bur's passing. We know you are hurting right now, but can take comfort in knowing that he is in a better place suffering from no afflictions. All the memories! I remember when...I could go on for hours, memories I'll just have to cherish for the rest of my life. We think of you so often especially in this time of sorrow and wish for you the best in your time of grieving knowing that your dad/grandpa provided so much happiness to so many people for so many years.

I was one of Wilbur's caregivers when he was at Townsend Adult Family Home and he was such a great man always had a smile on his face..Such a loss am so sorry to hear of his passing.Will always remember him for his infectious smile love you Wilbur Love Edie
