Shirley Benstine Obituary

BENSTINE,
Shirley

Shirley was born in Yelm, WA on December 21, 1923. She passed February 14, 2011 in Spokane, WA. She is preceded by her husband Donald. Together they lived the majority of their lives in and around Tacoma, WA.
Shirley is survived by her sister Dorothy and sons Donald and Wesley and their families. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Her hobbies were arts and crafts and she was a wonderful cook. She particularly loved pottery and taught classes for some time at McChord AFB. She was a tenacious bingo player who pursued the game with zeal. Shirley was a retired school bus driver who had a knack for commanding respect with a mixture of love and kindness. She and her husband Donald spent their golden years traveling the nation in their RV followed by relaxation on their "yachet" as they called it on the water near Tacoma. Shirley was a happy, social person. She was also the best Grandmother and Great Grandmother I know. We will miss her dearly.
No public services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St.
