Went to be with her Lord on March 31, 2011 in Spokane, WA. Iola was born on December 10, 1922 in LaCrosse, WA to John and Juliette (Wigen) Kyllo. She graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1940 and continued her education at St. Luke's Nursing School receiving her nursing degree in 1944. Iola married Lawrence Beal on September 29, 1944 in Hollywood, CA. She worked in a variety of different hospitals and institutions and became a pastor's wife in 1951, working side by side with her husband as he began his ministry in Kittitas, WA; retiring from the ministry in 1979 while serving in Endicott/Benge, WA. Iola enjoyed cooking, sewing and was a fabulous homemaker, mother, and wife. She had the gifts of laughter and joy. Iola is survived by her sons, Pastor Randy (Neree) Beal, Rod (Teri) Beal, both of Spokane, WA, daughter Claudia (Mel) Rumwell, Portland, OR, nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Paul, Bruce, Dan and a sister Dee. Iola was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Lawrence Beal in 2008. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Spokane First Assembly of God Church, 828 W. Indiana Ave. Spokane, WA with Pastor Randy Beal officiating. A private family committal will be held earlier at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent Ave. Spokane, WA 99202.

What a great lady Iola was. Our recollection of her brings a smile to our faces and joy knowing that she is with Jesus and Lawrence. She was a great friend and partner in ministry at First Assembly with us. Our love to Claudia and Mel and the rest of the family!! Pastor Harley and Kaye

I haven't seen Iola for many years but her smile and laughter are as clear in my heart as if I just saw her again. The Beal family came to Benicia, Ca and Lawrence was pastor of our church. Our families became close friends all the while they were there. Claudia, Randy, and Rod, you will carry on the legacy of your parents and you will do it with love. I will always remember cousin Iola for her whole-hearted laugh at family gatherings. She was a joy to be around and was always down-to-earth in every conversation. She showed love to everyone, and we soaked it up. God bless her.
