(Age 77)
Passed away on April 1, 2011 at Spokane, WA. Wayne was born on May 3, 1933 in Santa Rosa, CA to Everett and Edith (Bucckeoni) Thomas. Wayne retired after serving 21 years in the US Navy as a submariner. He served during the Korean war and the Vietnam conflict. He moved to the Spokane area in 1991. He was a past president of the County Homes Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the Project Joy Minstrels. Wayne is survived by his wife Barbara Thomas at the home, daughter Linda Swanson, Texas, step-daughters, Kari Tillman, Spokane, WA, Gena Rooney, Everett, WA, and a step-son, Mark Tillman of Connecticut. Private family inurnment will take place at the Eastern Washington Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake. Memorials may be made to the Pacific Northwest Kiwanis Outreach Fund, 10184 S.W. Laurel Road in Beaverton, OR 97005. Arrangements are under the direction of Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd. Spokane Valley, WA.
