Barbara Hitchcock Obituary

HITCHCOCK, Barbara Jean
(Healey)

Passed away on Christmas Day 2010 in Torrance, CA, of a thoracic aortic dissection. She was 59. Barbara was born January 22, 1951 in Seattle to Jack and Tedde Healey. Her family moved to Spokane, where she graduated from Central Valley High (1969) and later from Kinman Business University.

Barbara married Brian Hitchcock in 1972 in Seattle. In 1976, she gave birth to twins, whom she raised in Shoreline and Bothell, WA. The family were sealed in the LDS Seattle Temple in 1985. Both children went on to graduate from college and serve LDS missions in Central America. Barbara and Brian moved to Newport Hills, WA in 2000; she studied Interior Design at Bellevue CC. She and Brian moved to southern California in 2004, where she loved the warm weather and enjoyed wonderful friendships.

Throughout her life, Barbara showed a giving spirit. She excelled at various homemaking crafts, creating countless items of lasting beauty for her home and for her friends. She also volunteered in church activities and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her husband Brian of Harbor City, CA; mother Tedde Healey of Port Townsend, WA; daughter Holly Hitchcock of Federal Way, WA; son Daniel Hitchcock and grandsons Jonathan and Aden Hitchcock of Bothell, WA; and brothers Gordon Healey of Keller, TX and Gregory Healey of Quartz Hill, CA. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
