Betty Bentley Obituary

BENTLEY, Betty Eileen (Jolley)

Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Betty Bentley, went to be with her loving Lord on March 7, 2011.

Betty Eileen Jolley was born in Gildford, Montana, on April 3, 1929. Betty's mother (Anna Jolley) died of complications a few days after her birth. She was raised by a wonderful, loving foster family -" Daddy (Frank) & Mother (Alma) Wise and her two siblings -- sister (Frances) and brother (Lyle). She also had a special place in her heart for her biological father, Clayton "Rawhide" Jolley who shared wonderful stories of his Wild West Days.

After her divorce, mother moved to Spokane where she graduated from Kinman Business School. She retired from Cominco American/Teck Cominco after a long and rewarding 26-year career.

Mother was beautiful, intelligent and fiercely independent. She loved dancing and music and was a long-time Symphony/Pops season ticket holder. She was always there to help a friend or neighbor in need. By her example, mother taught us compassion, honesty and the importance of family.

Betty is survived by her children; Donita Bentley -"Everett, WA; Rita (Curt) Pritchard -" Alderwood, WA; Terry (Lori) Bentley, Spokane; Barbara Ervin, Spokane; Grandchildren: Shawn Pritchard and Renee (Sherrard) Fane (Alderwood, WA); Candace (Jim) Winter, Nick (Jesse) Bentley, Michelle Bentley, Natalie Ervin and Nicole Ervin (Spokane), and seven great-grandchildren.

At Betty's request, no memorial service will be held. A family celebration of her life will be held in Montana at a later date. The family wishes to thank Hospice and Moran Vista for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane, SpokAnimal or the Humane Society.

Memories and Condolences
for Betty Bentley

Not sure what to say?

I'll always remember Betty calling for her cat "Toby" every morning. She loved that cat and always worried about it. She worried about my cat too! Betty always wanted to make sure I was feeding her enough. Oh, if she could see our kitty now. She'd tell me it needed to be on a diet! All fun aside, Betty was a very special neighbor. We were lucky to know her. Praying for all of you who are family during this time.

Although death leaves a heartache, the love for mother/grandmother also leaves sweet, heartfelt memories no one can steal or value like you. May these be precious. I appreciate the loving care you demonstrated. So glad Betty's beauty was passed on to daughter and granddaughter! Matt. 5:4.

I worked with Betty at Cominco for eleven years and remember her as
being a gracious, helpful, upbeat, delightful person. I'm sure she will
be missed but you will be comforted by all the wonderful memories.

Betty was a delight. My husband, Greg Larson who passed in 2002 enjoyed working with Better and she was always sweet as can be to me. You were blessed and I know she will be missed. My prayers are with each of you. Susie

My condolences go out to all of you. I worked with Betty for many years in accounting at Cominco. She was the best dressed woman in company. Betty didn't change her mind very often as she stood behind her words. At her retirement, I recall our department rented a limo for our small group and went out for lunch and drove around town. That was a fun day!

It was a pleasant experience working in the same office with Betty in Spokane for so many years. Her delightful smile and friendly attitude will always be remembered..
She will be missed by all of us who knew her.
