"Jackie"Lantry passed away on March 15, 2011 at age 88. She resided at the Adult
Family Home of Cristina
and Florin Ungureanu, Vancouver, WA for the past three years and sub-sequently passed at the Ray Hickey Hospice Center of natural causes.
Jackie was born March 31, 1922 in Centralia, WA to Hazel and Harry Blair. She graduated from North Central HS, Spokane, WA in 1939. She was married to Ted Permaine until he was lost in action during WWII. During these two years she worked in the Navy yards clerical services division in Seattle, WA.
Following the war Jackie returned to Spokane, WA and subsequently married John H. Lantry, husband of 62 years, June 7, 1947 in Spokane. She and Jack lived in Helena, Montana in Portland, Oregon where her children were born.
Over the years Jackie shared in the family support by working as a secretary for the Masonic Temple of Spokane, retail sales, large apartment complex Managment, and Our Lady of Lourdes Gift Shop Manager. She did this work while raising children and supporting her husband's career endeavors moving frequently.
Her volunteer work highlighted Jackie's adult life well into her 70's. This service included Young Life Campaign Yacht Hostess 4 years, Our Lady of Lourdes Auxiliary, Pasco, WA, 20,000 hours over 10 years including membership on Executive Board of Hospital. She was a member of Washington State Association of Hospital Auxiliaries for 4 years and a Member of Executive Committee including 2 years as President.
She is survived by daughters, Diana Lantry-Bristow and Anne Sosky, sons In Law, Terry Bristow and Joe Sosky, grandsons, Shane Christensen, Jarrod Christensen, Casey Brown and Blair Brown, great grandson, Remy Jack Brown, 21 step-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John H. Lantry and one step grandchild, Brandon Rooth-Sosky.
Funeral Services will be held at Straub's Funeral Home (360-834-4563) in Camas, WA on Saturday, 3/19/2011 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary, Pasco, WA in her name.
