Bruce Burn Obituary

BURN,
Bruce Allan

55 Years of Life

Entered in to rest at his home on March 19, 2011 after a tenacious battle with cancer.
Bruce was born on July 23, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Southern California. Bruce proudly graduated from UCLA and received an MBA from Cal State University, Northridge. Bruce met his wife, Donna, of 26 years and together his career as a commercial lines insurance underwriter took them to five states before settling in what turned out to be his favorite city, Spokane. Bruce loved sports, music, reading, micro brew beer, red wine and a good joke. He was passionate about politics and had a huge soft spot for animals. Bruce will always be remembered for his quick wit, timely puns, and a twinkle in his eyes.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Donna of Spokane, mother Margaret and brother Ed of Thousand Oaks, CA, brother Rob of Seattle, WA, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Bruce's name to Hospice of Spokane or the Spokane Humane Society.
The family wishes to thank all those who gave wonderful care to Bruce at Group Health and Hospice of Spokane, and a special thank you to the kind and caring staff at Mullan Road Elementary School for their unending support.

Hey Bruce. I always enjoyed our interchanges as I'm sure you did. With the exception of the time you beat me at chess when we were camping in Utah. That one still hurts. I want a rematch later.

Bruce will forever be in our hearts and minds. Memories will forever be lovingly tucked away to be cherished.
From the time Bruce was a toddler to the time he left us he always had a mischievious twinkle in his eye - eager to bring a smile to our lips. He was very quick with puns - his mind quick as a flash.
Bruce gave us unfathomable support when we lost our son. I can picture the two of them sitting around having great debates.
Donna, may the joys of every day create memories for your heart like precious gifts sent full of love from Bruce.

With all our love,
Linda and Hugh.

Bruce and Donna,
I will always remember first meeting Bruce, Donna's new husband, and his quick wit and sense of fun. They were living in Utah when they introduced me to my first dog, a rescue golden of course, Kira. I will really miss Bruce's love of political debate over a good home brew or micro-brew and a cigar after dinner. We wish we could have seen Bruce one more time. Karen and I want you to know Donna that we miss you and want to see you whenever you are ready.
With Love and Friendship,
Cousins Dale & Karen

I am proud to have counted Bruce my friend for 45 years - and maybe a few more. I remember the boy soprano; the athletic kid who would rather play one-fly-up than practice piano; and the enjoyment we shared of playing guitar. I remember his great love of animals. I will miss him and offer my condolences to his family.
