Catherine Costello Obituary

COSTELLO, Catherine Aurelia
(Age 92)

Daughter of Bartley and Catherine Costello, was born in Spokane, Washington and died in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 2, 2011. She was preceded in death by her brothers William T. Costello, S.J., and J.J. (Joe) Costello, both of Spokane, and her sister Helen Costello Petrich, of Tacoma, Washington. She is survived by her brother, Frank B. Costello, S.J., of Spokane, and her sisters Mother Mary Michael, F.S.E. of Bridal Veil, Oregon, Therese Costello Hauer, of Alameda, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Catherine received her diploma from Holy Names Academy and worked at the Crescent Department Store in Spokane. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, she worked as a maternity L.V.N. at St. Mary's Hospital for many years. This led to her hobby of making quilts for newborns, for which she was given recognition by the hospital after crafting over 200 quilts in 20 years.
There will be a memorial Mass for Catherine at Marian Center in St. Paul. A devoted Catholic all her life, Catherine will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane.
