MYHRE, Claude Duane
(Age 84)

Claude passed away peacefully in his sleep March 7, 2011 at home. He was born December 30, 1926 in Regent, North Dakota. He moved to Spokane, WA. at age eight with his mother, Wanda Myhre, and younger brother Douglas Myhre. Wanda married Charles Myhre in Spokane. Claude graduated from North Central H.S. in 1944. He joined the Army and served in WWII. He married Helen Gilbert in 1947 and had three sons. His life was "Big Band" jazz music. He performed locally and throughout the region from the early '50s through the early '80s. He was a lifetime member of the Musicians' Union Local 105. He worked and retired from the Spokane County Treasurer's Office. He divorced in 1962 and remarried in 1986 to Mary Myhre. Claude and Mary have lived together in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for over 25 years. Music was Claude's life and he truly enjoyed it. He was a very kind and gentle man and was a loving father. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Mary Myhre, sons Thomas G. Myhre, Michael D. and Debra Myhre, Randal C. and Holly Myhre, grandson Aaron and Lindsay Myhre, great granddaughters Emerson and Kennedy Myhre, and granddaughter Britta Myhre, and stepdaughter Nancy Suzanne Wennstrom.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Corner Bar (formerly the Regina), at N. 1628 4th. in Coeur d'Alene, ID, on March 12, 2011, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
