Passed on to his heavenly reward February 15, 2011. Clinton was born August 5, 1928 and graduated from Centralia High School,
then Central Washington University. He received his Masters of Theology from Bright Divinity School at Texas Christian University, serving Disciples of Christ congregations throughout Washington state. Clinton accepted pastoral callings at First Christian Church in Hoquiam, North Hill Christian Church in Spokane and Northwest Christian Church in Ballard.
Clint was preceded in rest by his wife Patricia (Pat) Noreen Ruth-Rigg, and survived by his daughter Debbi Houtz (husband Warren), son John Rigg (wife Pam), granddaughter Leah Gaffaney (husband Joe), great-granddaughter Maya Gaffaney (the joy of his elder years) and many relatives in the Centralia area.
Late in life Clinton returned to Spokane, renewing acquaintance with Gwen Peterson. Clint and Gwen's families enjoyed a strong friendship for decades. Clint and Gwen wed at North Hill Christian in March 2010.
Clinton's laughter, wit and encouraging words will be remembered by all who knew him. Clint was a gymnast as a student and an acrobat with words. He enjoyed photography and produced multi-projector slide shows. He was an accomplished potter and invented a heating element still used in kilns today. He enjoyed stream engines and trains of all kinds, building trains and a train landscape in his Centralia backyard. Clint, an air-cooled VW mechanic, invented an electric bicycle in high school and never lost desire for non-petro travel--recently purchasing a hybrid car.
Memorial service for Rev. Rigg will be held February 26, 2011 at North Hill Christian Church, Post and Wellesley, Spokane.
