HART, Dale Leonard (Age 95) Dale passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013 in his Spokane, Washington home holding his beloved wife, Mary's hand, and surrounded by family. Dale was born in Meridian, Wisconsin to Arvilla P. (Case) Hart and Guy E. Hart on December 15, 1917. He moved to Spokane in 1922 and attended Bemiss Elementary, Libby Jr. High and John R. Rogers High School. Dale drove a truck for McGoldrick Lumber Company until he enlisted in the Army in 1942. He served in World War II in North Africa until 1945 when he was honorably discharged. Dale met the love of his life, Mary Roden, soon after returning from war and they married November 17, 1946 in Pendleton, OR. Dale and Mary were married for 66 wonderful years. Dale is preceded in death by his two brothers, Merle D. Hart and LaVerne E. Hart; and a sister, Blanche V. Talbott. Dale is survived by his wife, Mary (Roden) Hart, and five children: Steve (Ann) Hart, Tom (Jo Ann) Hart, Dan (Valerie) Hart, Susan (Brian) Grizzle and Sharon (Rob) Cavanagh, 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Dale worked as a tree trimmer and advanced to foreman at Washington Water Power from 1954 until his retirement in 1982. He was an active member in the IBEW union and was a 60 year Trailblazer. Dale enjoyed fishing, reading, and many trips with family and friends especially to Jackpot, Nevada. He loved a good western movie and treasured the family gatherings at "Hart's Bar" with a cold MGD, and always looked forward to his weekly Saturday visit to Jack and Dan's. Funeral will be Saturday, May 11th, 11:00 am at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 North Division in Spokane followed by a burial service at Pines Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Horizon Hospice (123 W. Cascade Way, Spokane, WA 99208) or Catholic Charities (12 E. 5th. Ave., Spokane, WA 99201).
