Dr. Husky was the best PCP ever. I was very lucky to have been one of his patients. He is truly missed by everyone that knew him I´m sure.

Dr. Husky was such a good and caring physician and man. You gotta love a Dr. who had dogs laying around in his office. There are so many things he did that made going to the doctor’s office so special. I’ll never have that personal relationship anywhere again. They just don’t do business like that anymore. Thanks, Doc

Still think about what a great man and doctor he was and still friends with his receptionist of many years Susan. She loved her boss as did all his patients...he cared for everyone and loved his animals. He left a void in my life...No, you are not forgotten Doc, never happen.

Just got the sad & terrible news. We first met Dr. Husky, who became our own doctor & friend when he was caring for my mother-in-law.Then we were being seen by him at the Devenport Clinic & then at his clinic in Spokane. Man of so much wisdom, care & thoughtfulness for people & especially his patients. He was able to save my wife, Lois' life after a gone bad surgical procedure for a breast reduction. He, Ricci & his Staff were always there for us! We want extend our thoughts & prayers to his entire family. He will be sorely missed. The good Lord is getting a good servant to help him. Rest in peace-our best Doctor & Friend. George & Lois Rosendahl

They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason
Will change the way we feel.
For no one knows the heartache
That lies behind our smiles.
No one knows how many times
We have broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something
So there won't be any doubt
You're so wonderful to think of
But so hard to be without.

I only recently (on Palm Sunday) heard about Dan's death from a friend at church. He talked of needing to change doctors because he had just found out about his MD's death. I was so surprised and so saddened that the years have separated us. Dan and Paula and the children were so wonderful and supportive to me and my husband and family when we lost so much in a fire to our home. Dan definitely beat to a different drum, but there is no doubt in my mind or in anyone else's that he always had his patient's welfare at the forefront. We butted heads from time to time because he had so many who wanted his full time attention that he was torn from the clinic to the hospital and the nursing home. He moved to Davenport the same year I became an RN, and we were coworkers as well as attendants of the same church, and both advocates for patient care. He always had a good sense of humor and a kind word for everyone he met, but most especially for his patients. I was not surprised to read all the kind words that others wrote about him. I know that words will not fill the void his dying created but I hope that knowing that he is now in God's arms is comforting. Now he is 100%healed by the Great Physician. My best to Ricci, Paula, Garrett, Karen, and David. May God be with you all.

I worked in one of the downtown hospital ERs for years. I have interfaced with most of the docs in town. In my opinion we enjoy the services of many fine docs in Spokane but I always was impressed by this one in particular. He was a remarkable combination of "down home" and medically sophisticated. Whenever I called him about one of his patients, day or night, he was gracious. During one of those consults I heard shooting in the background. Of course, I inquired.... "sitting on my back deck shooting pack rats". Only, Dan! He always knew the details of his patients care including the most recent labs and EKGs even when sitting on his back deck without the benefit of a chart in hand. He had a remarkable breadth of knowledge and excellent judgment. I always trusted him. This is a big loss for local health care.

Meeting Dr. Husky was a true blessing for us. It's hard to describe how great he was in so many ways. For us it will be his pro-active approach in our health issues. He never stopped until the answer was found. For this, we will be forever thankful. Everyone will miss our dear Dr. and friend. Our deepest sympathy, prayers, and thoughts go to his family and staff.

Dan Husky was my hero and mentor. When I first started my nursing career almost twenty years ago. From the first day I met him, which was the very first day of my nursing career, I have tried to model his compassion and caring for each patient. I loved his friendship and the way he dealt with all of the adversity in his life while balancing it with all his blessings. He became my MD also. A few months back I showed him a spot on my arm and he was gently holding my wrist and said "You know what this means?" I said "What Dan?" He looked at me with that awesome smile and said "We are getting old Jim!" May the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Thank you God for putting Dan into my life.

Dan Husky was one of the smartest doctors I've ever known. He was also a wonderfully kind and caring man. I think that every patient Dan interacted with felt that he had gotten the good doctor's full attention and care when the visit was complete -- that's a rare gift. I was proud to work with Dan as a colleague and so pleased that he was my personal doctor these past seven years in Spokane. Perhaps the greatest treasure Dan gave to Sylvia and I was his friendship. He was deeply loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

I am sorry I missed the opportunity to tell you personally how much I appreciated the wonderful care you gave to both my parents over the years. Thank you for that. They both are well. Because of your compassion and tenacity I still am blessed to have my Mom in my life. She is a 6+ yr cancer survivor who had a stage 4 diagnosis. She has no sign of cancer. You were the one driving the excellent care she received in diagnosing and treating this disease. She is here because of you. Words cannot describe my gratitude or the thanks you so deserve. I wish your family peace in knowing how many lives you have touched and changed forever. You will be sorrowfully missed. May God bless you and your family.

When we decided to make a move to Davenport in 1981 my husband Jeff and I agreed that we could go there if there were good doctors, a clinic, and hospital. We had small children. Davenport had the best. Dan and family arrived shortly after we did, so we were blessed with another fabulous physician as well as new friends.
We have many wonderful memories of Dan and family. They were gracious, generous hosts.
Dan was good with animals and people. Once on Fire Bell Hill when sledding was allowed, Babe the Husky's dog was cut deeply by a sled blade. My daughter Molly recalls that Dan got out thread and calmly stitched her right there!
Dan was my mother's doctor, and his honesty in helping me make difficult decisions regarding her future will never be forgotten.
Dan was a very special human being.

As I sat speaking with Dr Dan on an office visit I mentioned my son was in Iraq. David had just recently returned from there and while there Doc had a star flag hanging in his office. Dan told me it brought his son back safe and immediatley yelled do the hall to Ricki to get and give it to me to hang in my window until my son returned. My son returned safe monthes later and in turn I gave it to another family to hang in their window until their son returned home. I don't think I need say any more as this displays what a great man Dan was and how caring he was. I wanted to share this even though I had already left a message . My thoughts have not left you dear friend, may you and yours find peace.

Dan,
I have always admired and depended on your absolute dedication to the patients we shared. At a time when many of us seek to define our profession in the narrowest of terms, you embodied the title of Family Physician. A winter day on Christmas Break, 1985. I was sledding with friends until a good crash sent me home. 9 hours later I am in the E.R. and bleeding out internally.
