David Summerlin Obituary

SUMMERLIN, David Drew

On Tuesday February
22nd, 2011, The Lord Jesus
Christ opened his arms
and enfolded David Drew
Summerlin. He was born
September 6, 1963 in
Monroe, WA to Robert and
Kay Summerlin. David grew
up in Deer Park and enjoyed
drama through high school;
he was also very involved in
martial arts. As David was growing up, he helped on the family Christmas Tree farm as well as working with his father as Foresters.
David enjoyed time on his Dad's boat, especially in the San Juans with Josh and his Dad. He and his father spent many happy days doing carpentry work. Their recent work was rebuilding a "Chalet: in the hills in Springdale where they would be visited by the moose, deer, turkeys, and fortunately didn't see the bear or bobcat.
David is survived by his daughter, Rachel Dehn; parents, Robert and Kay Summerlin; sisters, Debra Peale, (Mike), DeAnne Adams, (Robert); nephew, Joshua Adams Matheson, and niece LaRena Adams. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd, at 2pm, at the First Baptist Church in Deer Park, 1200 E Crawford St, Deer Park, WA, 99006.

David was a great friend, I was so lucky to have him as such in my life. I will miss you often and promise to kick your butt next time I see you :) In the meantime... I know heaven is a brighter place because of the addition of your light to it.

David and I were best friends. We started out on the Jr High basketball team together, then onto Drama and Band in Highschool. Then it was crusing Riverside Ave on Friday & Saturday nights, and early mornings at State Line Idaho. I was his best man at his wedding before Rachael was born.

Even though we didn't stay in touch as we got older, he helped make me who I am today, and I will never forget him.

Goodbye my friend

I'm so sorry to hear of David's passing. I remember meeting him first when I volunteered to help with Cheaper By The Dozen, and we were friends from then on. There were a lot of plays between Freshman and Senior year, but I remember getting to be Annie Oakley to his Frank Butler. Everyone loved David, I remember that vividly. He had an easy laugh and drew people in like a magnet.

My sincere condolences to his family, you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
