(Age 69)
Passed away May 27, 2011 in Hayden Lake, Idaho. Dennis was born May 24th, 1942 to Harold VanDyke and Eleanor Daley VanDyke (Bradley, Thiel) in Medford Oregon.
He moved to Boise, Idaho at a young age and lived there for many years before moving to Hayden Lake Idaho in 1991. In 1976 Dennis met his soul mate and the one true love of his life, Dora Jewell. They married October 8th, 1977. They shared a special bond and were best friends. Dennis earned an Associate degree in Applied Science in Electro-Mechanical Technology at Idaho State University. He worked several years for the Transportation Dept. and the Idaho Dept. of Corrections.
In 1991, Dennis and Dora opened General Rental in Post Falls and were in business until they retired in 2006. He was a jack of all trades and was known as a master mechanic and craftsman. He made beautiful custom knives, custom furniture and could fix just about anything. He loved old cars, motorcycles, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and driving around on the back roads to enjoy God's beautiful creations.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Dora Jewell VanDyke; daughters Terry VanDyke, Tracy VanDyke Anderson, Tiffiny VanDyke; grandsons Kory and Blade; sisters Sonnia Bradley (Jim) Lane, Jana Bradley Clapp and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
