Diana Hipes Obituary

HIPES, Diana Margaret "Butch"
(Mills)

Went home on 2/7/2011 after a 4-month courageous battle against ovarian cancer. Born 12/18/1941 in Rural Butte County, CA to John Frederick and Mary Lucille Mills, she graduated from Oroville High School in 1959. In the 70's and 80's she worked as a CMA for Oroville area doctors, and 15+ years at Pacific Coast Producers. Her love of snow and (grand)children drew her to Spokane, WA in 1997, where she worked the last 10 years as a medical receptionist at First Care South Urgent Care Clinic. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother John Wayne ("Tug") Mills. She leaves behind her Uncle Joe, sisters Laurie and Inez (Darrell), children Jesse, Toby and Julie (Frank), grandchildren Cecely, Lacy, Ben, Tara (Ryan), Nate and Elise, adopted grandson TJ, great-grandson Conner, many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends, colleagues and her loving cats Sassy, Slick, Taz and Miss Molly. She attended Spokane Valley Assembly of God, and enjoyed reading, playing Bookworm and going to the casino. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, spontaneity and extraordinary inner strength. At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice House of Spokane.

I will always remember the good times we had in school and after. Maybe we will meet again in a better system that God has promised.

My deepest sorrow and condolences on your loss. We can all look forward to the time when death will be no more and instead of tears of sorrow there will be tears of happiness.
