Donald G.

Don went home to be with the Lord, February 17, 2011. He was born August 3, 1927 to Nordie and Violet Hustad in Fairfield, WA. He was raised in the Pacific North- west working in the farming industry in his earlier years. At a very young age he joined and served in the
U.S. Navy. For many years
he was an ironworker, working on Grand Coulee Dam among other projects. He was employed and eventually became Owner of Custom Body Company of Spokane. He owned and ran the business for over 50 years until his son Gary acquired the business. Don had a real zest for life. He enjoyed his family, many friends a great meal and a good joke. He was an avid golfer, had a passion for cars and enjoyed any and all sports. Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tyke. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene; his son Gary (wife Sue) and daughter Deanna Dullanty (husband Pat). Don is also survived by two granddaughters Jennifer and Katie and great grandson, Brysen; two step-grandsons Lance and Jason and their children; siblings Virginia "Ginny" Wickens (Spokane), and Kenneth (Coeur d' Alene, ID), along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be at Riplinger Funeral Home on Wednesday, between 9am and 8pm. A Celebration of Don's life will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA, February 24, 2011 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow at Mama Mia's Restaurant (W. Francis, Spokane). In lieu of flowers, we are asking donations be made to the American Heart Association (info available at funeral home). Don a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend will be greatly missed, but will be forever in our hearts. Guestbook www.riplinger.com.
