I want to add my condolences, also, to the family of my most influential teacher. As my 7th grade concluded, I felt as though I would never 'get it' but he encouraged me to see myself as unique and to strive on. No other teacher, before or since, gave me that encouragement. May he be rewarded for his care and encouragement.

Sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Huges.
Mr. Huges was my 7TH grade teacher at Arlington
in 1954-1955. I remember him well, with a vibrancy
for teaching and keeping a cohesive unit in his classroom.

"Mr." Don Hughes has been a large part of many memories of those of us who attended Arlington Grade School, especially. Don attended a luncheon with a handful of Arlington alums the day before died and many other of our gatherings years and months before that. We honor his life, his work, and the human being he was who cared for us. His obituary didn't mention the volunteer work that he did at Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery; he was honored as their Volunteer-of-the-Year just several years ago!
