Elaine was born in Marlin, WA, to John and Matilda Hoff on September 8, 1934. At the age of 12, Elaine moved to Spokane with her parents. She attended high school at West Valley and graduated in 1952. After graduation, Elaine attended Kinman Business College. She was later employed by Renaware and Kaiser Aluminum as a secretary, until her promotion to "Mom".

Elaine was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. As a young women, she enjoyed singing, playing practical jokes, and speeding in her 1950 black Ford. Her hobbies included baking, canning; and especially knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Elaine's first love; however, was for her Lord. Family and friends were also precious to her, and spending time with them brought her joy.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest granddaughter, Shawna K. Rabenberg. She leaves behind, the love of her life, (her husband of almost 55 years) Dale; her daughters: Dalene (Jerry) Rabenberg, Kali (Jon) Budda, Kari (Gary) Norton; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Bernice Schrenk and Amy Clark, as well as numerous nieces and nephews from the Hoff and Hirschel families.

A celebration of Elaine's life will take place Friday, September 29th, 5:30 p.m., at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 3598 N. Harvard Road, Otis Orchards, WA. Dinner will follow.
