DEIFE, Emma L.

Passed away February 1, 2011 in Odessa, WA. She is survived by three children, Leota and David Greenwalt of Odessa, WA, Janet Sackmann of Spokane, WA and Darryl and Lois Sackmann of Montrose, CO; along with four grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. She also has five stepgrandchildren, Marjorie and Neal Graeber; Noreen and Ron Side all of Spokane, WA; Kathy and David Swartz of Moses Lake, WA; Dale and Nancy Deife; Susan and Doug Roller all of Odessa, WA and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Powell of Bend, OR, Dorothy Meyer of Portland, OR and Rosemary Strocen of Vancouver Island, BC; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by two husbands, August Sackmann in 1971 and Arthur Deife in 1999, one grandson Wesley Greenwalt in 2008, great-grandson August (Gus) Greenwalt in 2007, one brother Almon Hille and two sisters Lorene Kuest and Agnes Banaka. She was a member of the Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Women's Guild, Odessa Palettes, Quilting Club and was an avid bowler. She was a 1936 graduate of Odessa High School. Funeral Services, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Odessa, WA with Pastor Barry Warpness, officiating. Concluding services and vault interment at the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, WA. Memorials may be made to the Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Odessa Healthcare Foundation or charity of choice. STRATE FUNERAL HOME, DAVENPORT, WA is caring for the family.
