LITTELL, Eugene Harvey
(Age 88)

Went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2011. Gene was born to Ray and Josephine (Smith) Littell on August 30, 1922 in Spokane. He was preceded in death by his first wife; Lillian (Oslund), daughter, Susette Werner; son-in-law, Brian Kelly; sister and brother-in-law, Margorie and Earl Ruby; brothers: Gilbert and Leonard "Gale"; nephews: John Littell and Lance Labarge.
Gene is survived by his wife of 46 and a half years, Veronica "Vicky"; daughter: Christina Kelly; son, Clayton Littell and Dr. Kirsten Robinson; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; sister, Susan Smith of San Marcos CA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene attended Bryant, Whitman and Browne Elementary Schools and graduated January, 1941 from North Central High School. He attended EWU until he enlisted in the Navy, October 13, 1942. He served in Pearl Harbor from June 1, to December 26, 1944. He was then sent to the Philippines to join a Beach Party, which was the embryo of the Navy Seals, until the war ended in September, 1945. He was honorably discharged as a Second Class Carpenters' Mate. He worked at Union Sash and Door for 11 years, at SHMC as Carpenter Shop Foreman for over 27 years. He retired in 1988. Gene was very active in his sons' athletic career and playing at a lot of golf.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 3624 W. Indian Trail Road, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
