Evelyn
Born February 7, 1930; died at the age of 81, February 25, 2011. Evelyn was born and raised in Priest River, Idaho. Her parents were Mike and Olivia Veltri. She was the second of four children: Violet Franz, Marvin Veltri and Marlene Veltri, who is the only surviving sibling.
Evelyn graduated from Priest River High School and married her high school sweetheart, Alan Henderson. She traveled with Alan while he served in the Army. They settled in Spokane and had two sons: Daniel and Michael Henderson. Her daughters-in-law are Sue and Shelly. She has two grandchildren: Ryan and Renee and one great- grandson, Landon Henderson (seven months old).
Alan and Evelyn had a second home at Deer Lake, Washington, where they thoroughly enjoyed the summers with their family and many friends. Evelyn was an immaculate homemaker and an avid gardener, who compelled her neighbors to attempt to keep their yards as beautiful as hers. She was loved very much by all and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Friday, March 4, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4515 N. We were so saddened to hear of a dear friends passing. She was a twelve year member of the class of 1949 ( she and Allen always attended the reunions) a popular couple, liked by everyone. We'll miss her greatly. Although I didn't see Evelyn that much over the years, it was always a joy to see her when I did. Our sympathy to all the members of her family. Connie (Wear) Salesky
