Evelyn Fordyce Obituary

FORDYCE,
Evelyn M.
(7/25/1931 - 3/17/2011)

Evelyn Fordyce of Spokane passed away March 17, 2011. Her two most special people in the world, daughter Meghan Rumwell and niece Teresa Campbell were by her side. Proud of her Irish heritage, it was appropriate that she joined her siblings and parents on Saint Patrick's Day. Evelyn was born in Spirit Lake, Idaho on July 25, 1931 and graduated from Central Valley High School. She worked in the Spokane County Sheriff's office and lived in the Spokane area for most of her life. She met her soul mate, Paul Fordyce and was married for 46 years until his passing in October 2010. Her daughter and son-in-law Meghan and Reg Rumwell; sisters Emma Freeland and Helen Piller; and brother Robert Rooks survive her. She will be remembered for her sweet, gentle soul as well as her enduring love and steadfast support of her family. A special thank you to the staff of Sunshine Gardens who provided her such loving care over the past year. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 26th at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 503 N. Walnut Rd. Spokane Valley. A reception will follow immediately after the service. Just heard about Evelyn. She was a wonderful woman and very insightful in human behavior. She taught me a lot. I named my son after her brother Wade. So sorry she is gone...but she is now in heaven with her wonderful family..especially brother Burton Rooks. RIP
