Frances Enabnit Obituary


ENABNIT, Frances Ruth

Passed away peacefully on April 15, 2011, in Spokane, Washington at the age of 85. Frances was born in Laramie, Wyoming. Her father, Thomas E. Kuiper, was a teacher, school administrator and rancher. The Kuiper family homesteaded in Johnson County, Wyoming. Her mother, Helen Seeman Kuiper, was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Frances married her high school sweetheart, Charles Merlin Enabnit. She was a registered nurse, and he was a WW II hero back from the war. He served in Italy in the 10th Mountain Division. They started a family together in their hometown of Buffalo, Wyo. They had four girls and finally, one boy. Their lives took them from Wyoming to South Dakota to Washington to Oregon to Colorado, and even California. Frances excelled in making friends and packing up! She taught Sunday school and served in every PTA. She was a Girl Scout Leader and wonderful neighbor to everyone she met. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. As her children grew up and left home they started their own families, and Frances became "Grandma Frances" to ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Frances always enjoyed reading, learning, church and community service, meeting new people, playing bridge, and was an active member of PEO.
Frances is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Merlin Enabnit, grandson, Jesse Sellon, and son-in-law, Larry S. Silver.
She is survived by brothers: Tommy (Velda) Kuiper, of Story, Wyo. And Dave (Jeanette) Kuiper of Buffalo, Wyo.; children: Celia (Jim) Jamison of Richland, WA., Becky Silver of Westminster, CO., Candi (Jerry) Sellon of Goshen, IN., Jill (Griff) Enabnit-Stokes of Spokane, WA., Charles (Nancy) M. Enabnit Jr. of Sandy, OR.; 10 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held April 29, 2011, at 4:00 PM at the Cedar Hills United Church of Christ, 11695 SW Park Way Portland, OR 97225. Interment to follow in the summer of 2011 in Buffalo, Wyoming. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross in memory of Frances Ruth Enabnit.
