Gail Wiemers Obituary

WIEMERS,
Gail Hazel
(Age 74)

Longtime resident of Rathdrum, Idaho, Gail passed away February 9th, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene Idaho.
She was born to Palmer and Hazel Hoiland on July 23, 1936, in Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by two infant brothers: Owen and John Hoiland, a son Wesley and a granddaughter, Jessica Haller.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd, five children; Russ and Debbie Wiemers, Joel Wiemers, Tim Wiemers all from Rathdrum. Rebekah and Blayne Terril of Post Falls, and Peter and Jennifer Wiemers of Coeur d'Alene. She had six grandchildren; Adam, Mandy, Amber, Cori , Alex, and Tylee. Gail also had four great grandchildren: Sadie, Carson, Cole and Jace.
She is also survived by five siblings; Dean Hoiland of Grangeville ID, Iris Hoiland, Linda Smith, Betty Steiner and Donna Ward, (all from Rathdrum Idaho) and several nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.
Following her marriage to Lloyd Wiemers in 1953, they moved to Rathdrum in 1954 where they raised their family. Gail was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Although she only had an 8th grade education she attended North Idaho College, earned an AAS in nursing and worked as an LPN, until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and her parakeets. She loved museums, books, history, and her family. Most of all she loved her spiritual brothers and sisters in the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses which had grown from one congregation in the Coeur d'Alene area to nine congregations, including the Lakeland congregation she attended when she died. She was known for the big, heartfelt hugs which she gave freely. She will be truly missed.
A memorial will be held on March 5, 2011 at 4:30 at the Rathdrum Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 8162 W Nagle Rd.

As I grew older, I grew even fonder of my memories of Gail (and Loyd & Fam). She was a very loving, and thoughtful mother in law. Her and Lloyd expressed their love and drove over 2000 miles to attend the wedding of her son and I in Rockford Il. back in 1975. They drove us back to Idaho with them. That experience of traveling and sight seeing and singing, and enjoying them will forever be etched as one of my fondest memories as a youth, as I had never been west of the Mississippi. Even if I was homesick, It was very fun and exciting. Thats when I learned what a "hairpin turn" is. When arriving, I found that she welcomed me by painting my bedroom pink, as she knew pink was my favorite color. She baked, and cooked and cooked and baked...with the smell of her famous dinner rolls. Mmmmm good. I could have learned a lot from her, however I chose the hard way to learn everything. In hindsight, there were many exceptional acts of love to follow, because that was just who Gail was, even after I left the family, acts of love that taught me what Christ like love really is. Love that will never be forgotten, an example of love that should be followed. A love that will be welcomed back, upon her return when Gods kingdom rules. With the deepest respect and fond memories, Candy
