Glen Clark Obituary

Clark, Glen C.

Passed away February 7, 2011. Glen was born in North Battleford,
Saskatchewan, Canada on July 7, 1922. Glen enlisted in the Navy during WWII, completing basic training at Farragut Naval Training Center. After basic training he was transferred to the Armed Guard and served as a gunners mate on several merchant ships that took him to Alaska, the South Pacific and Australia. His military service instilled a love of boating and open water that lasted a life time. He and his father built his first home in the Spokane Valley, where he and his wife Viola lived for 30 years. Glen was an accomplished woodworker, he could repair or build anything and he even built a boat that the family used for many years. He enjoyed the many camping trips taken with his family over the years. Glen worked at Standard Lumber Co. and later at Crawford Door Co., building custom garage doors. In his later years he was active in the Spokane Model Boat Club, where he built many model boats and won numerous awards for his skills. Glen was preceded in death by his wife Viola and is survived by his daughters and their families Terry and Charlie Klement, Colleen and Bob Loomer, grandson Andrew Loomer, and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the VFW Post #1435, 212 S. David Rd., Spokane Valley, Friday, February 18th at 2pm.
Donations can be made to VFW Post #1435 or Horizon Hospice.

Glen Clark was my uncle. Our two families had so many great times together, Camping, outdoor movie theater, trips and just enjoying each other. He could build, fix or repair anything. He will be greatly missed.
