1937 -" 2011
Graham Trevor Beaven died peacefully of a cardiac event on February 17th while on vacation with his family in Hawaii. Graham was born on February 16th, 1937 to Henry Thomas Beaven and Iris Jones Beaven in Gloucester, Eng- land. He grew up in Birmingham and married the love of his life, Dorothy, in 1963.
Graham and Dorothy emigrated to Canada in 1966 where their son Rich was born. Graham's career as a mechanical engineer in the aluminum industry took the family to Los Angeles, CA, Goldendale, WA, Owensboro, KY, Spokane, WA and Ghana, West Africa. He and Dorothy retired in Spokane.
A true English gentleman, Graham was an honorable and loyal man who loved people and would do anything to help a family member or friend. His friends appreciated his subtle sense of humor and his sense of adventure-"often telling stories from scuba diving, sailing and business trips abroad.
A gifted engineer and builder who could fix anything, Graham once built a car and drove it around France with friends while still in high school. He also built an addition on the family's home in Goldendale.
He was a passionate tennis player and fan, never missing an opportunity to play a game with his friends or watch a championship with Dorothy. A sailor at heart, Graham fulfilled a lifelong dream and spent some happy years on his sailboat on Lake Coeur d' Alene.
Above all else, he was a loving husband, father, father-in-law and grandpa to Dorothy, Rich, Michelle and Cadan. We will miss him daily and are grateful to have had his love and devotion.
A celebration of Graham's life will be held on Friday, March 4th at 2PM at the Spokane Club, 1002 W. Riverside Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of the charities Graham supported: The Union Gospel Mission in Spokane, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Meals on Wheels.

To the family of Graham Beaven. I worked with him many years ago at Commonwealth Aluminum in Lewisport Kentucky. I ran across a pic of him taken at the plant and just googled to find that he had passed away. My condolences to his family. Graham was a pleasure to work with and a very kind man.

Dorothy, I so enjoyed being with Graham, on and off the court. As you know, I was a sub for him during his recoup of his fall. I'm trying to make sense of it all, why a good man is taken from us. I have had many talks with Graham in the locker room at the Club. I'm so pissed that God would take him,when he is loved by so many....I've lost a good friend and a tennis partner.
