Harry Pupo of Spokane, WA was born to parents Gabriel and Marietta Rose Pupo of Serra Pedace, Italy, October 11, 1928.
He attended North Central High School, boarded and graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1946. Harry received a boxing scholarship to Gonzaga University.
He worked for Centennial Mills and Appleway Motors. He began his career at Hazeltine Industrial Supply. Later he started a branch office for Campbell Industrial Supply in Spokane. He then founded Tri-State Industrial Supply in Spokane and Portland, and retired from there in 1995. He looked forward to waking up every morning anxious to meet with his customers, many of whom became life long friends.
Harry's passion in life was for family and friends. He touched many people's lives with his care and inquisitive nature. Harry loved traveling with Kay to all corners of the world.
Harry is preceded in death by his brother Orland Pupo, sister, Yolanda Massie, and infant son and daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Kay of 63 years or 759 months as he liked to update Kay every month.
Harry is survived by his children: Suzanne (Michael) Fischer, Vancouver, WA, Dan (Jodi Morin) Pupo of Newman Lake, WA, JoMarie (Doug) Francis, Spokane, WA, Marymargaret (Dennis) Smith, Bend, OR, David (Sharon) Pupo, Lewiston, ID and Kristi (Mark) White, Kent, WA. Also nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his special nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law Charlotte Surridge, Terrie Lee (Jerry) Tsuneta. He is also survived by his sister Elisa Pupo and his closest friend Fr Armand Nigro, SJ, who he considered to be his brother.
Our family would like to thank Doctors Gary Craig, Michael Wukelic, and Don Howard for their dear care of Harry these past years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The House of Charity or The Union Gospel Mission.
Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Charles Catholic Church, 4515 N. Alberta at 3 pm on Friday, July 29, 2011.
