Don Satterlund made a difference in my life. I was a student of forestry at WSU trying to determine whether or not college was part of my future. I was barely maintaining a 2.0 when Don took an interest in me. With his guidance and support I went from a 2.0 to a 3.7 in one semester. He was my major professor for a year in graduate school until I changed my major to Soils largely because he forced me to take a number of soils coarses. I now have a PhD and a successful career in Environmental Sciences. This man is responsible for much of my success and I will always remember him as a friend and mentor. My deepest condolences to the family.
