Jackie Ivankovich Obituary

IVANKOVICH, Jackie L.
(Boardman)

Jackie Ivankovich answered the Lord's call Friday, May 20th after a courageous 4½ year battle with brain cancer.
Jackie was born in Spokane December 19, 1961 to parents Darrel and Vi Boardman. She attended CV schools, graduating from University High School in 1980. After attending SFCC, she worked for Grantree Furniture as manager until the company left the area.
She married Ted Ivankovich in 1990 and they had two beautiful daughters, Ashley and Alexis (Lexi). She was a stay at home mom until the girls entered school at which time she went to work at the valley Costco, who continued to love and support her thru her battle. Jackie was a very involved parent in her girls' schools, dance and sports activities. She was a member of St. Mary's church and was involved in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and as a Eucharistic Minister to shut-ins.
She was preceded in death by her father Darrel Boardman and niece Annie Heth. She is survived by husband Ted, daughters Ashley and Alexis, mother Vi Boardman, brother Gary Boardman, sisters Debbie (Mark) Heth, Connie Daily, Teri (Michael) Jackson, nephews Ryan Heth and Jordan Jackson, nieces Jenny (Brandon) Julian and their son Cole, and Breanna Jackson. Ted's brothers Ricky, Jackie (Nancy), Mikey (Lora), Danny (Linda), Aunt Eleanor Ivankovich and very special friend Kriss Arnold.
The family wishes to thank special neighbors, friends and the wonderful prayer group for their loving and caring support during this difficult time.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 304 S Adams Rd, Spokane Valley, Wednesday, May 25th at 1:00 pm with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to "JACKIE'S FRIENDS" memorial fund at STCU or Hospice House.
Jackie has passed from our midst, but she lives on in the hearts of all who loved her. Rest in peace Jackie Lynn.

Our thoughts and prayers for the family at this difficult time. Jackie left an indelible impression on the children she helped through Vacation Bible School at St. Mary's and on those who witnessed her strength the past few years. May she finally be at peace. Christiane and Jim Savage

Jackie was always helping at Uhigh and bringing cookies for the Senior All Nighter Bake Sales... she always wanted her girls to be proud of her and remember her as healthy and happy.. the rest of us kept telling her how much we admired her and what an example she was setting for us let alone her kids! We all loved her smile and sense of humor... We miss you Jackie... Dianne Dust-Opsal and Family

Jackie was a sweetheart. Loved her in high school and then ran into her at the furniture store where she worked and she was so genuine and caring. Such a loss, I feel for her family.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Jackie's loved ones. Praise God for the amazing woman she was here on earth, and that she is dancing with Jesus today. I am an old classmate who went to school with Jackie from 3rd grade on, she was always SO uplifting and positive... truly a blessing to all.
May God grant each one of us the blessing to be with her again in Heaven.

Jackie was an inspiration to all. She was a classmate of mine through our years of school and college even. We played volleyball and softball together. She was awesome, so sorry to hear of this loss. Feel for her hubby and daughters and family.

Jackie, you now carry with you a piece of my life and heart. I have so many fun and special memories to look back on...Remember our long conversations on our much anticipated trips to Worley for breakfast! You and Taco Time- you loved those Chimmi's! I use to tease you because you hated to shop-- which I couldn't believe! :) Our chats about the kids/husbands-- Don't worry Jack's- I'll never tell ;) I have so enjoyed your family ...watching the kids grow. I remember cringing when Lexi would go past with her skateboard, motorcycle, bicycle or rollerblades-The girl is fearless! What about the time you and Ted were running around the neighborhood looking for little Lexi- she had taken the training wheels off her bike (all by herself)- off she went. I believe you found her a few blocks away! With Ashley and her Dance/Cheerleading, what a proud momma you were. You've always believed in your two incredible girls. You instilled that spirit and fight that you had. I'm blessed to be able to continue life with your family--they mean the world to me! Please don't ever worry because they will be apart of my life FOREVER. With Ted being such an awesome, compassionate daddy and with the life lessons you both have taught, those girls will have no problem in the future. Again Jackie, thanks again for filling so many of my minutes here on Earth with love, purpose and friendship- You and the rest of your family will always be a huge part of my life. You girl were such a devoted and true friend. Thank you, thank you-
I won't write a book Jack a Roo...just wanted you to know I love and miss you! Until we meet again....I will wave and blow kisses to the clouds ~ Your forever and ever friend KRISS
