Jacqueline Blackburn Obituary

BLACKBURN, Jacqueline Sue
(Hobbs) (Age 60)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Always a true fighter who never complained and never gave up hope and always said "I'm OK", Jacki passed away with her husband by her side at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center on February 8, 2011 of auto-immune deficiency.
Jacki was born October 18, 1950 in Seattle, WA to Walter and Anita Hobbs. She was the third born of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Patrick Lyn and grandparents. Spokane has been her home since 1964. Jacki graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1968 and attended Spokane Falls Community College where she received her Secretarial Science Degree. She married the love of her life, Paul, on September 20, 1980. Jacki was a very talented and creative person. For years at Christmas the highlight of the evening was the last gift opened which was from Jacki. It would be a personalized quilt made with a lot of love, thought and hours of detail to make it just right for that certain family member. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, sewing, computer researches, her Indian heritage, the casinos and making her house a warm, comfortable and loving place to be. Her greatest passion was her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than making sure they were cared for and loved.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 31 years Paul; son Johnny (Pansy); daughter Katherine (Joshua); grandchildren Kaitlin (5) and Tanton (6 weeks); son Jeremy Cothran; brothers Mike (Londa) Hobbs; Pat (Kathy) Hobbs; twin sisters Charlotte (Larry) Harpster; Charlene (George) Wright; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a great mother-in-law, Carol Blackburn. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all staff members at Providence Sacred Heart who gave their expertise in a very compassionate way to try and save Jacki. And to Paul, Jacki's soul mate, a special thank you for your unconditional love, care, support, thoughtfulness and positive attitude that was shown to Jacki during this journey. A private family memorial is planned. Jacki loved and was loved. She will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Jacki Blackburn to Providence Sacred Heart Foundation, P.O. Box 2555, Spokane, WA 99220-2555.
