James Dunlap Obituary

DUNLAP,
James Edward

Passed away peacefully at his home in Colbert, WA on Saturday, March 26, 2011, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Dr. Dunlap was born in Elyria, Ohio to James and Pauline Dunlap on September 5, 1936. He graduated from Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1961. Following service in the US Army Dental Corp at Ft. Hood, Texas, he practiced dentistry in Elyria, Ohio and Billings, Montana.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara; three children: Jennifer (Michael) Jacobi and grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel; James N. (Amber) Dunlap and grandson, Taylor and granddaughters, Elise and Claire; Marni (Jeff) Nuzum and granddaughters, McKenna and Sydni; and his sister, Janice Soland, niece Elizabeth and nephew Jim (Sara) Soland.
Jim was an active outdoorsman - hunting, fishing, skiing and gardening and spending time at his home at Priest Lake, ID. He and Barbara enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. He had a great passion for music and played saxophone in several area bands. Jim had many enduring friendships over the years and valued each and every one.
His smiling face and sense of humor will be greatly missed. A Celebration of his Life is being planned for May, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in his honor be sent to the American Cancer Society, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or a charity of choice.
