James KILLINGSWORTH Obituary

KILLINGSWORTH, James Kenneth

James "Jim" Killingsworth passed away on August 21, 2016 after a five year battle with cancer. He was 67 years old.
Jim was born in Colfax, WA on March 9, 1949. He was the second child and first son of Kenneth and Marjorie Killingsworth.
Jim grew up on a wheat and cattle farm in Benge, WA. He attended grade school in a two-room schoolhouse. When he was in the 8th grade his family moved to Coulee City. Jim was very instrumental in running their cattle and hay ranch. He became quite proficient at changing sprinklers, bucking bales, and rounding up cattle.
Jim was active in high school and enjoyed playing football and basketball. He also became an excellent water skier. Upon graduation in 1967 he attended WSU, studying Ag Mechanization and graduated in 1971 with a bachelors' degree.
On August 15, 1970, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Carol Davis. They recently celebrated their 46th anniversary. They welcomed their daughter, Tammy, into the world on May 14, 1974. Tammy married Jon Hossfeld in 2001 and they have two sons, Brady and Drew. Those grandsons were the apples of Papa Jim's eye.
Jim spent over 40 years working as a truck driver, then branch manager and finally division manager in the fertilizer and chemical business. He was well known for his expertise. Whether it was work-related or family-related, he cared deeply for his people. He was always there for them, no matter the situation.
Anyone who knew Jim knew him as one of the most caring and giving men around. He wanted to take care of everyone and fix everything.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jon; grandsons, Brady and Drew; mother, Marjorie; sisters Carol Killingsworth and Rick; Shirley McLean and John; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donations in Jim's name can be made to the WSU College of Agriculture (CAHNRS) Excellence Fund at https://secure.wsu.edu/give/default.aspx
