Passed away peacefully at St Joseph's Care Center on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Janet was an active person who enjoyed travel, reading, swimming and painting until illness forced her to move from the Spokane Valley to St. Joseph's four years ago. A woman with a strong belief in Jesus Christ she loved volunteering at church and the library. Janet retired from the State of Washington Agency on Aging. She is survived by sons Grant (Kathryn) Sims and Gus Berluti; daughters Johan Cox and Debra Dempsey; and grandchildren Jessica, Matthew, Caleb, Nicholas and Issiah. Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Alfred A. Berluti and an infant son Dean Sims. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's for the loving care they showed for their mother and to the staff of Hennessey Valley Funeral Home for their sympathetic and professional service.
