Jean Marie Marker passed away in Olympia Washington on August 1st, 2018.  She was 85.  Born in Mead, Washington, she lived in Spokane most of her life, and graduated from Rogers High School.

A gifted singer and piano player, she loved the jazz and popular music of the 1920’s, 30s and 40s. In 1951 she married Bob Marker, who was then in the Navy in San Diego. The couple lived in Spokane from 1952 to 2014 when they moved to Olympia, WA.  Bob preceded her in death in 2016.  Jean is survived by her two sons, Michael and Terry; daughters-in-law, Ceci and Pam; one brother, Kerry Burkey, and his wife Loretta, six grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces and extended family.

She loved her family and friends, and looked forward to any opportunity for gatherings and parties with them. We will always remember her songs, stories, and cheerfulness. Her affirmation was “make memories."
