Joan Karahuta Obituary

KARAHUTA,
Joan (Nunney)

September 25, 1929 -
May 29, 2011

Joan, a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend to all, entered into heaven at 81 on a beautiful Sunday morning in Spokane, Wash.
Born in Surrey, England, to Joseph Walter Nunney and Mary Jennings, Joan was the middle child of three, with fond memories of her sisters, Pat and Rita.
She was raised in a loving and caring home by her Auntie Flo and Uncle Reg, after losing her parents at a young age.
Joan met Clarence Joseph "Joe" Karahuta, in England, where on June 3, 1950, they were married. A year later, their only son, Joseph was born. Becoming a military wife, Joan embraced the life, moving to Pennsylvania, and Texas, where Susan was born, then Georgia where Brenda and Helen were born. With four children in tow, they continued their adventure, stopping in France, Missouri, Washington, and Alaska. Joan and Joe finally settled in Spokane where Patricia was born. Throughout the years, Joan made beautiful long-time friends along the way.
With charisma, an English accent, a sense of humor, a love for people, and those beautiful blue eyes, she captivated and melted hearts wherever she went.
A strong, family-oriented, optimistic woman, Joan dedicated her whole life to her husband and five children, showing the true meaning not only of a wife and mother, but also a best friend. She made wonderful memories hosting countless gatherings, going on holiday, and spending quality time with family. Favorite pastimes include knitting, crocheting, reading, people watching, dancing, singing, and shopping.
Preceded in death by husband, Joe, in 1993. Survived by children Joseph, Susan, Brenda, Helen, Patricia; cousin Li'l Olga; grandchildren Jeremy, Dana, Joe, Jay, Joshua, Craig, Alina; great-grandchildren Blayne, James, Carter, Lydia, Delilah, Maximus, Holliday.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 3 at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 4 pm at Fairmount Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cancer Patient Care at 1507 E Sprague, Spokane, WA 99202. Please visit Joan's memorial at: www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com Arrangements entrusted to:

I saw Joan a few years ago by chance whilst shopping in Fred Meyers I couldn't believe how great she looked just the same as she did when i knew her in the 70's. She always had that great smile on her face, and for sure the next time I see her, we BOTH will be
smiling, dancing, singing, .......
My love to all the family
