Joanne Fritz Obituary

FRITZ, Joanne

Joanne Wilson Fritz, 83, died on January 4, 2011, at her home in Port Townsend, Wash. She was born on March 11, 1928, in Newport, R.I., to Joseph J. and Marguarite E. (Glacier) Wilson.
Joanne traveled with her Army family, seeing the whole world and finally landing in Fort Worden, WA. She was a Port Townsend High School graduate, class of 1946, and later graduated from Providence Hospital, Seattle, class of 1949, with a nursing degree.
Jo worked for Puget Power and retired after 35 years. Recently, she volunteered as secretary and treasurer for the Coast Artillery Museum. She loved working at the Fort Museum and shared her many stories of growing up at Fort Worden with visitors, friends, and relatives.
Jo met and married Robert "Bob" Burnett, the love of her life. They had three daughters. Bob preceded her in death.
Although she has left a huge hole in our hearts, we're comforted in knowing that she is reunited with the love of her life, Robert H. Burnett, and her beloved parents, Joseph J. and Marguarite Wilson; and sister Gretchen Farris.
She leaves behind her daughters, Nichol, Karen, and Cheri Fritz; sister Lois Sandquist; three nieces; and two nephews; three grand- children; and seven great-grandchildren.
Joanne had a kind and generous spirit with everyone especially her family. She will be dearly missed.
"Life isn't about how you survived the storm, it's about how you danced in the rain!"
