Juanita Springer Obituary

SPRINGER, Juanita A.
(Langford)

Passed to be with our Lord February 5, 2011, she had just celebrated her 87th birthday. Juanita was born in Indianapolis, Indiana January 30, 1924 to George and Myrtle Grace Langford. They moved to Spokane, WA where her father, George Langford, helped found KFPY which is now KXLY, where he retired as Head Engineer in 1970. Juanita attended Lewis and Clark High School where she was active in Chorus, Drama and sang Opera. She met William E. Springer while he was stationed at the Naval Base in Kirkland, WA. They married on June 5th, 1943 and moved to his hometown of Elizabethtown, Indiana. Juanita attended Business School while William got his degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. They had two children Stephen and Nancy Springer. After divorcing in 1958, Juanita returned to Spokane and became a Dental Assistant and Office Manager for Dr. Dominic Dire until she retired 30 years later. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she organized fund raisers for many organizations and charities. She was a wonderful single mother and sacrificed much to raise her children. She was a fantastic cook and had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She even endured "Band Practice" in the basement, her son Steve being a musician, so from then on, to all our musician friends she was known as Mom. She was kind and many times generous to the point she went without. She spoiled us all rotten, but she loved her family beyond measure. She is survived by son Stephen E. Springer and daughter Nancy A. Springer; grand- children Christopher T. Smith, Andrea R. Smith Borges, Jessie L. Apperson; five great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy M. Davis and niece Bobbie A. Stephens of Everett, WA; brother Wesley G. (Barbara) Langford; and nephews Jeff, Mike, "Too Slim" Tim and Randy Langford. She was laid to rest at Fairmount Memorial Park next to her father and mother on February 14, 2011. We will always love you and never forget you our Dearest Juanita, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Champion, Friend -¦ We will all miss you till we meet again, in the Heavens in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. I love you forever grandma, you have always and will continue to be my greatest inspiration in my life. I 'am so happy I 've been blessed to have you as my grandndmother. I remember all the times we rode the bus together to the hair salon and always lunch after ;) and the times we went to the mall when I needed a winter coat. OH and your cooking , mac and cheese with velveta my favorite and thoese powered suger cookies you made at christmas! I remember visiting you with mom at the nuseing home and you asked me, "what color are your eyes?" I said blue. (not knowing that was your favorite color, It's mine too!) you said I looked preety and I wanted to cry. You are a beautiful woman grandma and I'll think of you always everyday.
