Kevin Damore Obituary

DAMORE, Kevin Christopher
Born July 20, 1980
Passed away March 22, 2011

We mourn the passing of our beloved Kevin Christopher Damore, son, friend, writer, and lover of life. His passion was baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners. He enjoyed watching basketball and baseball and listening to music; Pearl Jam was the soundtrack of his life.
Kevin worked as a professional writer for publications in Oregon, Washington, and California. He enjoyed writing stories about people who overcame adversity to find success, or articles that gave the reader insight to the player or game that went beyond mere reporting and statistics.
Above all, Kevin's greatest pleasure was in spending time with his family and friends. He dearly loved his parents and his sister, Elizabeth. To those who knew and loved Kevin, he will be greatly missed. We will always remember his smile, his humor, his deep chuckle and laughter. His life was much too short, but we feel fortunate to have been touched by his spirit while he was with us.
Kevin is survived by his mother and father, Chris and Suzanne Damore, his sister Elizabeth, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the University of Portland, designating your donation "In Memory Of Kevin Damore".
A celebratory gathering of Kevin's family and friends will take place Saturday, April 2 at St. Augustine's Parish Center, 428 W. 19th Ave., Spokane, from 12 noon to 4 pm.

Kevin was hilarious. We were always up to such mischief in our homeroom (the keyboarding room) that we both ended up spending the time forced to have our hands in our laps. So we'd just laugh about something or other the whole time. He will certainly be missed.

Hey Kevin,

In case I never did, I wanted to apologize for blaming you for shaking the desk with your foot when it was actually an earthquake. Luckily St. Mary's didn't collapse on us. Just because Bobby Cox retired didn't mean you had to too! Much love to your family and see what you can do about getting the Pilots to March Madness for us. Peace.

I was in the MFA program at Saint Mary's with Kevin, and I remember him fondly. He had a great sense of humor. He was energetic and full of life. I know that all of us from Saint Mary's who remember him have surely been stopped cold by this sad news. Best wishes to his family. Kevin was a great person.
