April 17,1923-May 15, 2011
Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Jakob and Lucille Dolbinski. She relocated in 1959 to Portland, Oregon with her husband and family. She worked as a cook for the Portland School District until moving to Spokane in June of 1968 where she remained for 42 years. She retired from the Spokane School District 81 as a cook at Jefferson Elementary. After the death of her husband, she enjoyed time in the community and traveling to see her family. She assisted many of her friends in the area at Assisted Living Centers. She adored all her grandchildren, and although not wealthy, saved to help each one get started after graduation from school. She was kind and loved everyone, and was a master at coupon shopping and loved to sew. Lillian is survived by a brother, Stan Dolbinski, of North Dakota; three sons, Jack of Spokane, Roger of Boise, Wade of Tacoma; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, from Noon to 6:00 PM followed by the Rosary at 6:00 PM at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N Division Street, Spokane, WA 99207. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 19, at 10:00 AM at The Cathedral Of Our Lady Of Lourdes, 1115 W. Riverside, Spokane, WA. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Lillian was a neighbor and friend to my mother while at Alderwood and my mother followed her with much excitement to MV to be her neighbor. Her kindness to my mother and her humor were appreciated as well as her refreshing thoughts and opinions. My mother and myself are sorry to hear of her passing. She was a lovely person.

Lillian's grandson, Jared, is my manager. He always shared funny and endearing stories about his Grandmother Lillian. Even though she is no longer here her spirit will live on through those wonderful memories. My thoughts and prayers are with Lillian and her family.
