Linda Tyler Obituary

TYLER, Linda

Linda Anne Tyler, 57, of Spokane, WA, formerly of Battle Creek, MI, passed away January 23, 2011 at Hospice House of Spokane.
She was a 1971 graduate of Battle Creek Academy and attended Southern Missionary College in Collegdale, TN. She had been employed by Dare Products, Battle Creek Adventist Hospital, and Battle Creek Health Systems prior to moving to Spokane. She retired from Sacred Heart Medical Center as Patient Financial Coordinator for the Kidney Transplant Program and always went above and beyond in her duties. She was further recognized for her hard work and appointed by the Governor as a Patient Advocate on the Washington State Health Insurance Pool, which she did with pride and dedication. She considered being a patient advocate her calling.
Linda was extremely creative and had played several musical instruments, enjoyed cooking, quilting, drawing with pastels and oil painting. She visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and England. She considered Spokane her home: her friends and coworkers were her family of the "heart" (Sacred).
Linda is survived by her son Alexander Tyler (Spokane, WA), parents George and Ruth Anne Tyler Jr. (Delton, MI), brother George (Michon) Tyler III, sister Sarah Goss, brother Andrew (Renee) Tyler, and six nieces and nephews, all of Battle Creek, MI.
Memorial Services will be held at The Garden of Faith and Healing on the campus of Sacred Heart Medical Center, February 11, 2011, at 4:00 pm.

Linda and I worked together at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. We have been emailing each other over the past year and I was fortunate enough to visit with her when she was here in November. She was so proud to show me pictures of Alex and her travels with Sarah. I will always remember Linda as a strong person and wonderful friend. May memories bring peace to Linda's family.
