Linda Louise LAMBERT

1930 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
LAMBERT, Linda Louise Linda Louise Lambert, age 88, departed this world for Heaven on December 28, 2018. Born in 1930 in Ashland, Kentucky, Linda was the youngest daughter of Calvin and Louise Lambert. She began her 35 year long elementary teach-ing career on the island of Guam in 1958. She later taught school in Honolulu and in Nine Mile Falls, Washington. Linda was a passionate lifelong learner, she enjoyed tap and ballroom dancing, and was an avid reader and music lover. Shortly after moving to Spokane in 1976 to be closer to family, Linda became a member of the Unitarian Church where she started a social group for single adults, enjoying camping, cross country skiing and many other social and outdoor activities. The history of Spokane was of great interest to Linda. She enjoyed living for many years in historic Brownes Edition, participating as a museum docent for a while. Later, Linda joined Central United Methodist Church and took part in many activities there, especially helping to serve meals to the city's homeless population. First Presbyterian Church was Linda's final church home, where she actively pursued Bible study and a closer relationship with the Lord, encouraged by the vibrant community there. She continued to attend even after losing her eyesight at age 80. Linda was deeply loved by her family: daughter, Dee and husband Tom Johnson of Spokane, daughter, Leslie and husband Dave Jensen of Auburn, CA; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. We miss her dearly, and are grateful for her love and care for each of us. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Linda's many friends and caregivers who faithfully visited and encouraged her especially in the past eight years. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Lilac Services for the Blind. A memorial is planned for springtime. For details please contact the family.
