Passed away February 28, 2011 in Spokane, WA formerly of Odessa, WA. She was born May 24, 1914 to John and Mary (Weber) Hopp at Odessa, WA. She is survived by her children: Marilu (Wendell) Person of Peoria, AZ. And LaMar (Annette) Miller of Veradale, WA. Grandchildren: Gregory (Marisela) Person, Susan Person, Paige (Michael) Laws, Kara Miller, Jason Miller. Great Grandchildren: Ashley, Melanie and Gregory Person, Madison and Hailey Laws, step grandchildren: Oscar and Stephanie Hernandez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband John H. Miller in 1996, her parents and three sisters, Helen Borgens, Leona Luiten and Dorothy Gies.
Loretta was born on the family farm 3 ½ miles S.E. of Odessa, worked at JC Penny in Odessa, farmed with John at Mohler and Odessa then moved to Spokane in 1952. While in Spokane she worked for The Crescent and at RussAnns' womens clothing stores and also was a great Mother and wife. She loved her many friends , relatives, church activites, sewing, crocheting, cooking, ceramics, dancing and especially painting. Loretta was always busy and fun to be around-"she will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday March 8 at Odessa Cemetery at 2 PM. Memorial Service will be held Friday March 25 at 11 AM. Location: Heritage Congregational Church, 1801 E. 29th Ave. Spokane, WA. Dr. Bob Christian, Pastor will be officiating.
Memorials may be made to Heritage Congregational.
STRATE FUNERAL HOME, Davenport is in charge of arrangements.

Loretta was a great lady. I only met her a couple of times, but I loved her upbeat personality and the way that she called everyone "kid"...it brings a big smile to my face just thinking about it! My thoughts & prayers go out to the family.
