GERALD, Lorna L. (Peterson, Boren) Passed away on March 2, 2014 in Spokane. She was born to Stanley and Dorothy Peterson on May 22, 1937 in Kalispell, Montana. Lorna moved to Spokane from Montana in the late 1950's. She married and raised four children in the Shadle Park area. She was a very caring mother and grandmother who loved taking care of animals. She is survived by four children and their spouses; Stephen and Johnna Boren, Scott Boren, Christopher Boren, Cynthia and Kevin Smith, all of Spokane; three brothers, Douglas, Gary, and Darrell Peterson; one sister, Patricia Cates; seven grandchildren, Cody, Jacob, Dayle, Katerina, Emily, Richard, and Alex; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Janet Peterson; and her husband Terry Gerald. A placement ceremony will take place on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:15 AM at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake. A celebration of her life will directly follow at the Life Center Church North, 8303 N. Division St., Spokane. The family recommends the Spokane Humane Society for memorial contributions.
