Went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2011, one month to the day after celebrating her 100th birthday. Family and friends gathered on April 9, 2011, at Rockwood South in Spokane to honor Lucille on her special day. Lucille Laura Latham was born on April 9, 1911 at her parent's home in north Spokane. She later graduated from North Central High School and Kinman Business University and found employment at St. Lukes Hospital and then at the Western Hair Company, where she worked as a secretary until 1937 when she married Paul Erickson. Paul and Lucille moved to Wilbur, WA, where they resided until 1953 when they returned to Spokane, and both found employment. South Hill Bible Church became their church home in 1954. Lucille was actively involved in teaching Sunday School and in the women's fellowship, and has been a member all these years. Paul passed away in 2001, and Lucille moved to Rockwood South in 2003 where she resided until her death. Lucille will be remembered for her entertaining book reviews, her outgoing personality, her sense of humor, and her love for the Lord, family, and friends. She loved to read and play cards, especially bridge. Surviving Lucille is one daughter; Susan Crocker of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews of Paul's and close friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at South Hill Bible Church, 958 E. 29th, Spokane, WA 99203 with Pastor Sonny Westbrook officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to South Hill Bible Church or the American Cancer Society, 920 N Washington St., Spokane, WA. 99201, or charity of your choice.
