Marcia Lee Mace was born to Frederick and Sara Peterson at Newport, WA. She lived at Blanchard Valley till 1941 when the family moved to Four Lakes, WA; where she went to school and later worked at
the Four Lakes Store. Marcia Lee Peterson married Frank Russell Mace on April 11, 1946. They were married 65 years at the time Frank passed away on April 12, 2011. They had three children - Russell Frank Mace, Lenard L. Mace and Sara Kay (Mace) DeLong. She has three grandchildren Angelique J. (Mace) Wren, Lance Russel Mace and Mekenzie DeLong, one great-granddaughter Anna J. Wren.
Marcia Lee was a member of Four Lake's Grange and secretary of Four Lakes Grange Auxiliary #908, and Silver Circle Club. She held many offices of the Grange. She also was involved as a 4 H leader, President of PTO and PTA, President of Four Lakes Hub Club. As well as being very involved in many community projects. She's a past member of Carpenter Auxiliary, past member of D.A.V. Post #45 and POW Club of Spokane and she was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Past member of the Aubrey White Garden Club and Volunteer of the VA Hospital in Spokane. Marcia enjoyed making crocheted lap blankets for the VA Hospital.
Marcia loved working in her yard and flowers, many commented how her yards looked like parks. Marcia was very proud of the beauty of her yards, and how others enjoyed being in them. Marcia Lee was a devoted mother and took joy and pride in being involved in all of her children activities and driving them and their friends to all the activities. She also spent many hours with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter and going on trips with them. She loved working on crafts and crocheting when she wasn't in her yard.
Marcia Lee Mace is survived by her sons: Russell Frank Mace and wife Jane, Lenard L Mace, her daughter Sara K. DeLong and husband Joe. Three grandchildren, Angelique J. Wren, Lance Russell Mace, Mekenzie J. DeLong, one great-granddaughter- Anna J. Wren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Russell Mace, Mother and Father- Fredrick Holst Peterson, Sara Lilac (Hartford) Peterson and her brother Fred Peterson.
There will be a Graveside Service Saturday, July 14th at 1:00 PM at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane, WA.
